What to Do While You Wait

1. Shut off the water at the main valve for any active leak or burst pipe. The main valve is usually near where the supply enters the basement or utility room. Turn clockwise to off.
2. Shut off the gas only if you smell gas and only after leaving the home. Call the gas utility from outside before calling us.
3. Switch off power to the affected equipment at the breaker panel - water heater, furnace, sump pump. Do not stand in water to reach a panel.
